eGolf Awarded Spot in 2014 Reno-Tahoe Open, a PGA TOUR® Event

Charlotte, N.C. – The eGolf Tour announced today that it has been granted a spot in the Reno-Tahoe Open, a PGA TOUR® event, to be contested at Montreux Golf & Country Club on July 31 – August 3, 2014. It will mark the first ever tournament invitation issued to the eGolf Tour by a PGA TOUR® event in the tour’s 13-year history.
The Reno-Tahoe Open spot will be the 14th invitation to a PGA TOUR®-sanctioned event awarded to the tour since the start of the 2009 season. In addition, the tour has been granted a total of four exemptions into European Tour events since the fall of 2010.
The spot will be awarded to the winner of the ArrowCreek Open – an event sanctioned by both the eGolf Tour and eGolf Tour West, set to be held at award-winning ArrowCreek Country Club in Reno, NV on July 1-3, 2014.
“We are excited about announcing our relationship with the Reno-Tahoe Open,” said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. “This will mark our first spot awarded in a PGA TOUR® event, and presents an ideal manner in which to bring together both the eGolf Tour and eGolf Tour West for what should be a great week at ArrowCreek.”
The second-annual ArrowCreek Open will be contested on the Legends Course at ArrowCreek Country Club, a stellar 1999 Arnold Palmer design that routes itself in and around sweeping views of the Sierra Mountain range. The course will be without doubt one of the most scenic venues on either tour’s 2014 schedule, with the desert landscape and panoramic mountain and city views forming a stunning backdrop.
“The location of the ArrowCreek Open combines with the Reno-Tahoe Open to provide an attractive event for eGolf Tour players from both the west and the east coasts,” said Siegel. “Reno certainly offers a vast array of entertainment for our guys, while Lake Tahoe is just 30 minutes away – all enveloped in some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States.”
The Reno-Tahoe Open spot stands as one of the highlights of the 2014 eGolf Tour and eGolf Tour West seasons, which will both culminate with the inaugural Million Dollar Championship Series – a four-event, season-ending series for the top players on all three eGolf-sanctioned tours, featuring guaranteed purses of $225,000, $225,000, $250,000 and $300,000.
